Acupuncture is the use of extremely thin needles, inserted gently and shallowly, into the body at various points in order to affect the Qi within your body. Qi circulates through your body constantly, much like blood. The channels that the Qi flows within have several hundred points among them and these points are used to help move, direct, and promote the balanced flow of Qi in the body.
Acupuncture can sometimes hurt but most usually does not. When it does, the most common reason is a build up of “stuck” Qi in the point and this fades very rapidly.
Chinese Herbal Medicine has more familiarity than we think. Plants have been used since the beginning of human life to help us heal ourselves from illness. A new awareness in our country of the benefits of herbal therapies can be seen in any grocery store medicine aisle. However, it is important to note that herbal medicine is real and powerful and that it is always wise to get information before taking anything.
The beauty of herbal medicine is that the formulas made in ancient China are balanced within themselves to regulate any side effects. This way they are always suited to the situation without hurting any other part of your system.
All of the herbal products we sell come from the San Francisco-based Mayway Herb Corporation. They own their own farms in China and maintain strict standards for the quality of their herbs. To learn more, visit Mayway.com.
These are two of the most important factors in our health and well being. Following the joy of your heart is another. One of the most important things we need to do for ourselves, and need to do with more urgency in these demanding times, is to take time to release our stresses.
At Living Harmony we wish to provide you with an environment that succeeds in removing the clutter that surrounds us and help you reconnect with what nourishes you.
